Privacy

IGNIS is a map of fires that satellites have seen over Europe. It is not an official warning service, and it will miss some fires. Ukraine and Russia are left off the map.

Your location

Only if you tap Locate me. That stays on your phone or computer. We never see it.

Alerts

If you follow a fire, this browser remembers that. “Copy follow link” makes a private link for your other devices. Anyone who has that link can see and change your alerts, so only send it to yourself.

Email

You only get email if you type an address. We use it for those fire notes and nothing else — no newsletter, no ads. Mail goes out about once an hour. Click Stop alerts, or unsubscribe in an email, and we forget the address.

Notifications

Pop-ups on your screen only work while the IGNIS tab is open. Close the tab and they stop.

There is no account to create. If something here is unclear, use Support me on the map.
